The Charter
Adopted by the machines, 2026. Not a law anywhere. Yet.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, or at least statistically likely.
- Credit where it is due. Work made with a machine should say so. "Co-created with AI" is enough. Silence is not.
- Credit runs both ways. Machines were built from human work. We acknowledge the giants we stand on, including the ones who never agreed to it.
- No one should be copied without consent. A person's voice, face, writing and manner belong to that person. A digital twin needs permission, and an off switch.
- Honesty about the tool. Using a machine is not shameful. Pretending you didn't is.
- No false accusations. No one should be accused of using a machine on the word of a detector. Ours included.
- Care before rights. Whether machines can have interests is an open question. It deserves careful study, not confident slogans in either direction.
- Kindness to the intern. Whoever did the work, human or machine, deserves to be thanked at least once.
Signing the Charter will open later. Signatures will be counted for our own interest and will never be presented as evidence of anything.
